Battle of the courses

It was interesting to read the reply to Sid innocent posting of uitm accountancy faculty advertisement. One one hand, yes.......we can't beat what's been pre written as our destiny, fate, takdir or whatever. Question is, does academic qualification falls under prewritten category? Death is.

I've been there, done that and so was Sid and many others that have made it. Yes, it was tough to go through every stage of the exam. Afterall, the exam was designed to put you a cut above the rest. You won't be called chartered accountant for nothing, babe. You have to sweat through it.

But exam was what it is, merely an exam. It was designed by mere mortal with brain capacity more or less of an average joe albeit more resilient to the call of tv, a date, sport, movie or what not that seemed to occupy the major part of our time as an undergrad. Since it was designed by human beings, whom by most part were constrained to their office, the easiest way to get through the exam was to understand the examiner culture. Which is to say the students need to know the education system in UK. The next best to do thing is to understand how the Brits think since the exam papers are designed by them. Surely students can't answer it Malaysian style, study-to-pass-the-exam mentality toppped with haphazard English and expect to pass. Most importantly, you can't just read one text book and hope to score an A, and then when you failed, blame it on the fate. The higher the level you are at means the more you have to read & research and the broader the horizon of your mind should be.

Having all that safely under your belt, now come to the next issue....attending class! For god sake, unless you are born ultra genius, you can't hardly understand the concept of FM by staring at the book (and blame on the fate later on)

All that done, welcome to the world of professionals where job offers find you while actually you are contemplating to build your own empire.
