Amri is attending his first annual jamboree this coming Friday and Saturday, held at his school field. I'm proud to say that, at 10 (nearly), he is no stranger to camping trip. And definitely not at a comfy school field. But this is the first camp he is attending as a boy scout and the jamboree will be organised by teachers and Malaysia Army staffs. How cool can it get?
What amused me was the list of the clothes he has to bring. Among other things:
4 t shirts
2 track bottoms
2 sport shoes
1 set of school uniforms
1 set of baju melayu (complete with sampin and songkok)
1 set of planters order*.
Honestly, Amri brought much less on a 3 days camping trip. But then, this is not a picnic cum camping trip. This is a lot more serious stuffs. I just hope Amri and his friends has enough time to change clothes throughout the day and night. It does sound like these kids are going to play dressing up though :)
Hope they have tonnes of fun.
*Planters order is a semi formal dress code, i.e long pants, long sleeve shirt, tie and smart shoes. In a letter from Amri's school, it specifically mentioned black shoes and black slack. I was quite reluctant to buy a 10 year old boy a proper slack so I settled for a docker like black pants :)
He still doesn't have a sampin!!
